We welcome you to come visit our farm and meet our herd and youngsters before you decide to who to buy. Our animals are more than just "merchandise" to us and it is important that they find homes where they will be happy and match well with their owners' needs.
A $75.00 non-refundable deposit is required to hold an animal. This deposit may be made by cash or check. The rest of the balance is due in cash at time of pick up, unless it has been prepaid. The buyer is responsible for the cost of a health certificate and any other testing needed, if required by state of destination. If the deposit is not received within 4-5 days of our agreement, the goat will be made available for someone else to purchase. The deposit will only be refunded if something unfortunate should happen to the goat. It will not be refunded if the buyer backs out of the sale for any reason!
We reserve the right to refuse to finalize a sale if we feel that the purchase would not be in the best interests of the animal. (What constitutes a good home for a goat?) In the event that this should happen, we will refund all monies paid as a deposit prior to final purchase. If the animal is not picked up at the agreed upon time (usually between the ages of 2-3 months), a $1.00 per day board fee may be applied. Payment must be made in full to leave our property. Goats not picked up within 30 days of the scheduled pick up date will revert back to being property of Rustling Oaks Farm and no refund will be given on any money paid unless other written arrangements have been made.
Our animals are sound and healthy at the time of sale and we will do our best to accurately and realistically represent each goat; however, we cannot guarantee that a goat will mature as you might expect - there are many different factors involved in the individual development of each animal. Almost all of our bucklings are sold intact. If you do not wish to breed your male goat and prefer him as a pet, we recommend castration at 4-5 months of age as early wethering increases the risk of urinary blockage due to bladder stones later in life. We do not disbud, de-horn, or bottle feed our goats unless there is a medical reason.
