Uncle Steve and Aimee came out on Saturday morning and brought Sally and Pie for a ride. It was a gorgeous morning and the horses looked great! Things started out really nice, but Toby had other plans and got REALLY "spunky" coming around the back side of one of White Oak's pretty ponds. I ended up walking back part way and golf carting the rest of the way. Back to the round pen for us! I think he is in love with Sally and just can't bear for her to get out of sight for a minute. :) Back to the drawing board! Still, it was a nice time and great to see Pie and Sally looking so shiny and well-cared-for. It's awesome to know that they fit so well with Aimee and Uncle Steve!

Saturday morning was very pretty and my friend (and HOOF founder), Diane Caruso, brought her horse Hawk over from Blythe for a ride. It was Toby's first time out in over a month and he was a total sweetheart. Seems like my dreams of having a wonderful horse to ride in the fall are coming true. YES, I'm praying that it continues! Diane and Hawk are the kind of laid back team that are a joy to ride with. Here's to many more happy trails and cooler weather! Mom is da' man! We needed to get the large hay ring from the paddock at one end of the farm to the upper pasture at the other end of the farm where the horses are. She had the brilliant idea to try to roll it instead of taking it apart, loading it into the truck, and driving it over. It worked!!! Poor Chili and Chispa didn't know WHAT that was coming at them across the yard! Big guy Toby just kept right on munching his breakfast. :) |
